Geoff Allen AM, Director

Geoff is the Founder of the Allen Consulting Group, and Founder and Chairman of the Centre for Corporate Public Affairs.

Geoff advises government departments and leading Australian and multinational companies on public policy issues, regulatory risks, government-business relations, best practice public affairs management, and reputation management.

His current roles include Chairman of the Australian Statistics Advisory Council, National Chairman of the Committee for Economic Development of Australia (CEDA), board member of the European Centre for Public Affairs and Asia Pacific Regional Editor, Public Affairs (international journal).

Geoff’s achievements include:

  • Member of the Order of Australia for service to business and corporate public affairs
  • former Senior Adviser to the Minister for Labour, Federal Treasurer and Leader of the Federal Opposition
  • recipient of the Centenary Medal for Services to International Trade Policy and the Melbourne Business School Distinguished Alumni Award
  • pioneer of the research and teaching of Social and Political Environment of Business and Business-Government Relations in Australia
  • co-founder and foundation Executive Director, Business Council of Australia.

Previous positions include Director of three public companies, Senior Research Fellow and Adjunct Professor at the Melbourne Business School, and Chair of a number of Commonwealth and State Advisory Councils on Business-Government issues.

Geoff was educated at Wesley College, Queens College and Melbourne University. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) History and a Master of Business Administration.
