Kerry Barwise, Director

Kerry specialises in strategic economic advice regarding competition policy and regulatory change, with particular expertise in the intersection of economic, social and environment policy.

He evaluates and advises on public policy programs, major projects, taxation and infrastructure funding in government, trade, and industry development.

Recent projects include:

  • State Business Tax Reform, a study prepared for the Business Coalition for Tax Reform
  • The Telstra Return on a National FTTN Network: Community Impacts, prepared for the Competitive Carriers Coalition
  • Reform of the Retail Lease Market in NSW, prepared for the Shopping Centre Council of Australia
  • Gambling with Policy, prepared for the Gaming Technology Association
  • Business Costs of Traffic Congestion, including a review of regulatory issues for the Victorian Competition and Efficiency Commission.

Kerry began his professional career providing economic policy advice at the Australian Government’s Department of the Treasury, where he helped guide development and implementation of Australian National Competition Policy and related reforms. Kerry joined ACG in 1997.

Kerry was educated at the Australian National University. He has a Master of Public Policy from the Public Policy Program.
